Chattanooga Tenn Dec 7th 1862
Dear Companion
I again take the opertunity of writing to inform you that I am not well but
much better then I have been Hopen these lines will reach you safe and find you all well I
came here two days ago and has farde verry well ever since I came here I am at the Nusome
Hospital at this time the Dirareah is Better on me then it has been for Two months and the
Last two weeks I have sufferd a great Deal with the piles but they have broke on me and
has Bleed freely and I am much better with them so It hink that in a short time I shall be
able to return to camps a gain I left the regment at manchester and all the boys was doing
verry well all but T. L. Ledford he was sick and I tride to get him to come here with me
but he said he would stay in camps a while longer and see if he did not get better in a
few days I have no news to write at this time of interest I did intend to try for a furlow
to come home but the doctor says that orders has come from Richmond to grant no furlows
nor discharges untell further orders so it is a bad chance at this time but I shall come
as soon as I can get the cahnce and I hope that I will get to come a Christmas F. M.
Crumly has the promis of a discharge and the doctor said that he would fix it up in a few
days when I left the Regment So I dont know whether he will get it or not But I hope
he will for he has not been able for duty since he come back from home I want you to write
back as soon as you Receive this and let me heare how you are all getting a long and when
you write direct to the Nusom Hospatal Chattanooga Tenn You must excuse a short letter as
I have nothing to write more at this time so no more at present But the well wishes of
