This indenture made this Eleventh day of April one thousand eight hundred and
fifty nine between William Smith of the county and state aforesaid of the one part and
William M. Smith of the same place of the other part, witnesseth that the said William
Smith, for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred and seventy five dollars to
him in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt
wherof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained, sold and conveyed, and doth by
these presents grant, bargain, sell and convey unto to said William M. Smith, his heirs
and assigns, all that tract or parcel of land situate, lying and being in the county
aforesaid on the waters of the south prong of broad river, bounded as follows; beginning
at a white oak, thence S 82 1/2 E 37.25 to a stake, thence N 37.20 to a black gum, thence
N 85 W 34.50 to a post oak, thence S 5 W 30.20 to the beginning white oak, to have and to
hold said tract or parcel of land unto him, the said William M. Smith, his heirs and
assigns, together will all and singular the rights, members, appertinances thereof to the
same in any manner belonging to his and there own proper use, benefit an [torn] for ever,
in fee simple, and the said William [torn] administrators the said bargained premisis unto
the said William M. Smith, his heirs and assigns will warrant and for ever defend the
right and title there of against themselves and against the claim of all other persons
whatever.

the day and year above written.
