I am looking for information
on James C. McCuller who lived in Miller Co., GA around the 1900 census. Thanks
to input from people who saw my queries on the STEPHENS family, I know that
he was married to Trudi Stephans in 1907. I know he later moved to Jakin,
Decatur Co.,GA and possibly is buried in either Decatur Co., Early Co., or
Miller Co. I am primarily interested in his birthdate, birth parents if they
were in Miller Co, and possible descendents still around. I am also interested
in if he was married twice. I have a birth certificate of one of his son's
(the youngest) which says he was the only child born to Trudy Stephans. I
would like to know if the other children were of a different mother or if
the document is possible wrong. Thanks

..May 21,1998
We are researching the family
of Jim Turner. He is buried in the New Salem Free Will Baptist Church cemetary
just south of Colquitt on Hwy 91. His first wife was Elizabeth Smith. They
had 8 children. One of their children was my husband's great grandfather James
Polk Turner who is buried in Corinth Cemetary located in Iron City, Ga. Jim's
second wife was Mary Daniels. They had 10 children. Most of Jim's family
is buried in the cemetary at New Salem. We are interested in any information
about this family. We recently discovered that Jim Turner's parents were G.
W. and Milley Turner. Milley is buried at New Salem but we do not know where
G. W. is buried. We think the G. W. stands for George Washington as that
is a name that occurs often in the family line. Any information would be
greatly appreciated. Bob and Patsy Forrest Panama City, Fl

Looking for info on demise of
the Francis Hopkins (1817-68), who was in Decatur and Early Cos. and was in
Colquitt, Miller Co., where he had lived several years at time of his death
on 10 Dec 1868 during his first term as a delegate to the Georgia Assembly
from Miller Co. Need information from news obituaries or other sources at
time of his death, and his place of burial. He was a founding member of Bethel
Baptist church in Decatur County in 1853, but perhaps transferred membership
to a Baptist church in Colquitt. Did he die in Atlanta or Colquitt? He was
a physician, helped lay out town of Colquitt, belonged to Simon Holt Masonic
Lodge No. 218 in Colquitt from 1857 until his death, had previously been a
schoolteacher in Russell Co., Alabama, and served on a Miller Co. board that
certified teachers, commanded Company D of 51st GA Inf.Regt. (Miller Guards)
in Civil War until he resigned 29 Aug 1863 because of colonic disease from
which he died 5 years later. This information needed to help identify the
