A wedding that as quite a surprise to our people was that of Mr. J. S. Shepherd of this city, to Mrs. May Rogers of Savannah, which event was solennized Sunday afternoon at the Methodist parsonage at Griffin, Rev. C.O. Jones, pastor of the First Methodist church, officiating. Mr. Shepherd is a well known and popular mail carrier on R.F.D. route 1 and has the esteem of all his patrons. Mrs. Rogers is the daughter of Dr. Ayers of Memphis, Tenn. and is an excellent lady.
