Mrs. Maude Hall of Barnesville Dies


     BARNESVILLE -- Mrs. Maude Thurmond Hawkins Hall of 710 Greenwood street, Barnesville died Monday evening at the Griffin-Spalding County Hospital after an illness of several weeks.
     She was a native of Monroe County and had lived in Barnesville for 65 years.
     Mrs. Hall was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
     Survivors include two sons, Robert L. Hawkins, of Long Beach, Calif., and George A. Hawkins of Miami, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Ivan Johnson of Forsyth; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
     Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Barnesville First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Jack Mummert will officiate and burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.
     Haisten Funeral Home of Barnesville is in charge of arrangements.

Maude Elizabeth Thurmond was born 14 September 1876 in Monroe Co., GA, the daughter of William Harrison Thurmond, Jr. and Sarah "Sallie" Catherine (Buff) Thurmond. She m. Robert Edward Lee Hawkins, Sr. on 28 October 1897 in Monroe Co., GA. After he died, she married George Dill Hall.
