THE FOLLOWING IS INFO ON Harry Lee Moorefields GREAT GRANDPARENTS:

Directions to the cemetery WHERE THE GREAT GRANDFATHER IS BURIED:

This cemetery is just out of Leaksville NC (currently called Eden NC) Rockingham County.

From Eden NC take NC 87 south to Riverside Cir which is SR 2108 (there is a Exxon station at this intersection), turn on Riverside Cir and drive past Woodpecker Dr. on the left, go around a few curves and the cemetery will be on your left, look closely after passing Woodpecker Dr. because the entrance to the cemetery is hard to see and the cemetery although NOT far off the road is somewhat secluded.

This is known by family members as the Galloway cemetery, the actual name needs to be obtained.

The John W. Moorefield grave is located within the rocked in walled area, in the far right back corner.

Bethel Page (family friend) had purchased the grave marker, and engraved on it is John W. Moorefield 1843 - 1888. The dates on this marker is in disagreement with information obtained by Bill Moorefield. Correct information needs to be secured and correction needed.

This info was submitted by Joel E. Newbern Hewitt, Harry Lee Moorefield was my uncle, my mom Martha Ellen Moorefield Nance Newbern Hewitt was his sister.

Harry Lee was a auto mech by trade, loved to laugh, loved his family and was a real joy to listen to as he told of family times, he loved his dogs, cigars and cadilacs. he used to get a look of disapproval from his 2nd wife Ruth when he let let his dogs take a sip of his coffee from his cup  : ) Much could be said about Uncle Harry, he was a real southern conservative at heart, and would debate you in a minute!
