The Youngest Ordinary
Troup County has now the youngest ordinary in the state, and strangely enough his name is Young. Mr. Robert M. Young who has just been elected to the office of ordinary in Troup lacks a few days of being twenty-four years old. What he lacks in age, however, he makes up in ability and experience, as he has served as the clerk of court of ordinary for a considerable time. Columbus Enquirer- Sun
Troup County may have the youngest ordinary in name but not in fact. Mr. R.L. Greer, ordinary of Macon County, no doubt has the honor of enjoying that distinction. His father was ordinary before him for a long term of years, but died a few years ago before his son was of age. Bob did the business of the office, after the death of his father, before he was twenty-one years of age, and at the last county election was elected ordinary. He is now about twenty- two years old, and is no doubt the youngest man in the state filling such a responsible office, and he fills it as well as a man of more mature years.
