Infant Ethan James Crawford died Wednesday, Jan.25,2006 at South
Regional Medical Centers. Survived by his parents of Blackshear; 2 brothers;
both of Blackshear, his maternal grandparents of Sycamore, his paternal
grandmother of Blackshear, his maternal great grandmother of Sycamore, & of
Albany, his paternal great grandparents of Blackshear, an Aunt of Atlanta, an
Uncle of Waycross and several other relatives. Funeral Services for Little Ethan
were held 2 p.m. Monday (1-30-2006) from the graveside at the Bethel Baptist Church

Day Service At Bethel Baptist Funeral Services for Clifford Day,
age 80 of Ashburn ware held Sunday, Jan.29,2006, at 2:30 P.M. at Bethel Baptist
Church. Burial followed in Live Oak Cemetery with the Revs Donnie Duncan and Ken
Kicklighter. Mr. Day died Friday at his residence following a sudden illness.
The organ was played and quartet sang "Amazing Grace". Mr. Day was
born in Irwin County, Ga. and was the son of the late Robert Newton &
Samantha McElroy Day. He was a retired truck driver and had lived in Turner County
for 30 years. He served in the US Navy during WW 11. He was avid deer and bird
hunter and loved working his cattle. Survivors include his wife Day of Ashburn,
1 son of Ashburn, 1 daughter of Jacksonville Florida, a brother of
Irwinville, Ga., a sister of Rutherford, N.C., 6 Grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren.
The family received friends Friday from 6 - 8 PM at Perry Funeral Chapel. You

Graveside rights for Nora Richardson King, 69, passed away Monday,
Jan.16,2006 in Williamsburg Community Hospital. Mrs. King was originally from
Roanoke Va. She was a Graduate of Ashbury College, received a masters degree
from Indiana University, and a doctorate from Interamerican University in Salito
Mexico. She spent 7 years teaching school in Argentina. She taught Spanish at
East Carolina University for 7 years. She was a school librarian at Dozier
Middle School, Newsome Elementary School, and both the old and new Hines Middle
School. She and husband, a professor, emeritus of Christopher Newport University
have been married for over 30 years. Mrs. King was a loving wife, compassionate
friend, talented gardener, musician, seamstress and dedicated teacher. She was
proceeded in death by her father and mother, William J. & Claudine O.
Richardson of Roanoke. She is survived by her husband of Williamsburg, and her
brother and family of Lake Charles, LA. Funeral Service were held Wednesday,
Jan. 18. 2p.m. at Bucktrout, Williamsburg Funeral Home. Graveside Service will
be held Saturday, Jan. 21, 2 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Rebecca, Georgia,
with the Rev. Eric Newman officiating. In Lieu of Flowers the family request

Massey Service at Trinity Baptist Funeral Services for Mrs. Lunell Massey,
70 of Sycamore, Ga. were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Jan. 27,2006 at the Trinity
Baptist Church in Ashburn. The Revs. Carlton Webb and Jerry Cooper officiated.
Interment took place at 3:00 PM in the Bertha Dozier Memorial Park Cemetery in
Montezuma, Ga. Mrs. Massey passed away Wednesday at an Albany Hospital following
a lengthy illness. A singer sang "Go Rest High on that Mt." &
another sang "Precious Memories". The daughter of the late Archie S.
& Berta Collier, she was born in Macon Co., Ga. and had lived in Turner
County since 1975. A homemaker she enjoyed cooking, sewing, fishing, camping and
working in her yards and being with her family and friends. A member of Trinity
Baptist Church she was the widow of Alfred Massey. Survivors include her
children of Ashburn and of Thomaston. Her brothers; of Ft. Valley, of Ambelmarle
N.C., of Perry, her sisters; of Byron, and of Sycamore, 16 Grandchildren &
31 Great-Grandchildren. The family receives friends tonight from 6 - 8 at Perry

Lowell Eugene (Gene) Oakes went to be with the lord on Friday Jan.
20, 2006. He was born Jan. 8,1948 Montezuma, Ga., the eldest son of Luthar Avery
"LA" and Joyce Bowden Oakes. A Jacksonville resident for the past 16
years, he worked at Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Florida and served as a faithful
member, Sunday school teacher choir member and deacon at Murray Hill Baptist
Church. He also served in the Air Force in the Vietnam era, was President of the
Florida Lighthouse Association and was a former Boy Scout leader and Little
League Coach. He will always be remembered as a man who dearly loved God,
Family, Jaguar Football, history, lighthouses, genealogy, collecting hot sauces,
traveling with his family and sitting on the porch to watch the birds. Left to
cherish his memory are his parents, his wife of 15 years, 3 sons, 2 step sons, 3
brothers, former wife; numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Life
Gathering was held Jan.28, at 3 p.m. at Murray Hill Baptist Church, with Pastor
Doug Axtell officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Spina
Bifida Association, 81 Lighthouse Ave., St. Augustine, Fl. 32080 or the American
Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK. 73123. Arrangements by

Funeral Services for Mattie Lucy Cooper Reynolds were held Jan.
26, at Arabi Baptist Church. Burial follow in the Arabi Cemetery. The Revs.
Jerry Jarrell, & Ray Burnett officiated. Mrs. Reynolds husband closed the
service with personal remarks. A pianist, accompanied by a singer sang "How
Great Thou Art". Serving as Pallbearers were her grandsons and nephews.
Mrs. Reynolds was born Sept. 27,1927 in Turner County. She was the daughter of
the late Edith Lucille McLendon Cooper & the late Alton Green Cooper. A
daughter Jane Reynolds Tomlinson proceeded her in death. She was a member of
Cordele Garden Club & Arabi Baptist Church, where she served in the past as
a pianist. She was also a member of the UMW. She was a retired book keeper &
retired sales person with Belk. Surviving Mrs. Reynolds: Her husband of Arabi, a
son of Arabi and his wife; a daughter of Ashburn and her husband, a son-in-law;
of Asheville N.C., sisters of Arabi, Sycamore and Americus; grandchildren,
