ASHBURN — Mary Edge, 86, of 600 Perry Dr., Ashburn, died Tuesday, October 3, 2006, at Osceola Nursing Home in Ocilla. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 7, 2006, at Greater St. Luke Baptist Church, Ashburn with interment in Westview Memorial Cemetery in Ashburn. The Rev. Alexander Williams will officiate. Born August 15, 1920, in Turner County , Mrs. Edge was educated in the Turner County Public School System. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Luke Baptist Church in Rebecca which later relocated and renamed Greater St. Luke Baptist Church, Ashburn. Survivors include three daughters, one son, 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

Helms, Eunice Raines
ASHBURN — Funeral services for Mrs. Eunice Raines Helms, 96, of Ashburn, will be 2 p.m. today (Monday) at the Rocky Mount Baptist Church . Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Helms passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2006 at Tift Regional Hospital . The daughter of the late James Hardy and Betsy Davis Raines. She was born in Turner County , GA. She was a homemaker and had taught school with the Turner Co. School System. She was the widow of James Cooper Helms and a member of the Rocky Mount Baptist Church . She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Nella Frances Helms, brothers, John D. Raines and Fred Raines and sisters, Louise R. Haman, Aline R. Andrews and Milo White. Survivors include her brother.
