Gray granted land in Cherokee Land Lottery of 1932 He lived Madden's Dist. Pike Land Dist 17 Sec. 1 Lot 204- he was given land.
1764- Richmond Co. State of Ga 1 Apr James Gray of NC intends to move into this state. Was granted 1000 acres.

GROGAN, Robert
b. 21 March 1835 Cass (Bartow) County, Georgia
d. September 1908 Polk County, Georgia
Served in Confederate Army; 40th GA Infantry, Co. I.
Robert Grogan and two of his brothers, John M. and William Grogan, enlisted in the Confederate Army at Cass Station, Cass County on March 4, 1862. They served in Company "I" of the 40th regiment of Georgia Volunteers. All three were at the surrender of Vicksburg, Mississippi, July 4, 1863. His brother John M. Grogan was a sergeant and corporal, and was captured at the Battle of Resaca. He was discharged from Camp Douglas Prison, Illinois in May 1865. William contracted typhoid fever and died at Loudon, Tennessee, November 22, 1863. Robert served until the end of the war. He served in the Army of the Tennessee under Generals Joseph Johnston and John Bell Hood, and fought in the Battles for Vicksburg, Atlanta and Franklin and surrendered at High Point, North Carolina in May 1865.
