John Gresham Cemetery

 

The grave of John Gresham (b.30 Mar 1741 ; d.1 Nov 1831) Virginia Militia, Revolutionary War, is located in what is now the front yard of a private residence (as documented in the book "Walton County Georgia Cemeteries (West)" on page 177). This grave is on H.D. Atha Road in the front yard of 3220.

 

The above article (click for larger view) stated that on 3 Jul 1982 the John Clarke Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution held a small ceremony to dedicate a new marker placed on the grave of John Gresham (1741-1831).

In the book, there is information about another grave in this same location for Edmund K Briscoe (age 3 yrs. 7 mo. Died 23 Apr 1843).
