WILLIAM (WARREN) BRAND

William Warren Brand was born May 23, 1756 in Edgecombe County, North Carolina. He died in 1848 in Loganville, Walton County, Georgia. He is buried at the Brand Family Cemetery, off State Hwy 81, Loganville, Walton County, Georgia.
William married Sarah Bryant, August 16, 1781 in Edgecombe County, North Carolina. (Source: Family Data Collection-Marriages on ancestry.com) Sarah Bryant was born July 15, 1770 and died December 9, 1834, and is also buried at the Brand Family Cemetery.
According to the Sturgeon-Boozer Family Tree on ancestry.com, William and Sarah had six children, Thomas born 1756, Edgecombe Co, NC, Jonas Thomas, born 1788, Edgecombe Co, N.C.,, Elizabeth born 1792, Edgecombe Co, NC, Daniel born 1800, Oglethorpe Co, Georgia, Christine, born 1805, Walton County, Georgia, and Isaiah C. born 1808, Walton County, Georgia.
According to a memoir by William Brand (see link below for transcription of this memoir), he served under Captain Richard Shipp in the North Carolina Troops on his first term. He served for five months in 1780 and then in 1781. His second term his commanding officer was Captain Benjamin Phillips. In 1837 he received a pension for his service in the war.
William is listed on page 279, "Roster of Revolutionary Soldiers in Georgia, Volume I, Names of Revolutionary Soldiers who Drew Land in Georgia in the "Lottery of 1827" and the counties of Georgia in which they lived", as living in Walton County.
