Sixty seven years of marriage is a long time, but to Mr. and Mrs. Crawford Jones, it has been a happy time.  Crawford is 92 and Callie is 86.

"We were married May 8, 1910 by Silas Star, a justice of the peace in Loganville", says Mr. Jones.  "We've been together a good while now.  I bet we've had the least quarrels of any married couple.  That's because I minded my business and she minded hers."

Mr. and Mrs. Jones have two children.  In addition, they  have two grandchildren and one great grandchild who live near them.

"I live within three miles of where I was born," say Crawford.  "I have never been further from home than Greensboro.  When I went in the hospital his year, it was the first time I have ever been in one and although the people were nice, it just wasn't home.  I've never been to a doctor but three times in my life, and I didn't like to stay in that bed in the hospital.  I had work to do here at home."

Mr. Jones is the son of the late Eli Jones and Melita (Brand) Jones, Walton County pioneers.  He is te only surviving member of eleven children.  He began school about 1890 in the old Bay Creek Church School and went through the seventh grade.

Mrs. Jones, the former Callie Nunnelly, suffered a stroke about six year ago and then a second one about five years ago.

Her parents were Alexander Nunnelly and Charity (Brand) Nunnelly, more Walton County pioneers.  She has six living brothers and sisters.
