Personally appears E. S. Thompson of
Worth County, State of Georgia, who, being duly sworn, says on oath that he is a
bona fide citizen and resident of Georgia, and has been continuously since the 1st
day of February 1837, that he enlisted in the military service of the Confederate
States ( or the State of Georgia) during the war between the States, and served
as a Private in Company G, of 14th Regiment of Georgia Volunteers Thomas Brigade,
that whilst engaged in such military service, at the battle of Petersburg in the
State of Virginia, on the 25th day of March 1865, he was shot while in the engagement
with a minnie ball which cause the lost of his left hand first finger above the
1st joint.
Deponent desires to participate in the benefits of the Act, approved
October 24th, 1887, and the Acts amendatory thereof, and makes application for the
allowance to which he is entitled for the year thereunder, ending October 26, 1892.

Personally appears before me, the undersigned Ordinary in and for
said County, W. A. Harris and T. Tipton and J. J. Ross each of whom, being duly
sworn according to law, severally say, under oath, that they are personally well
acquainted with E. S. Thompson whose application is herewith presented for a pension,
and that they served with him in the army, and from our personal knowledge was injured
by the service as follows: I know that applicant has lost a finger while engaged
in the Confederate War.
We personally know above stated facts. We were with
him in the army and have known him ever since. Applicant is permanently disabled
as stated and has been so to our certain knowledge ever since. We have no interest
in the recovery of a pension by him.

loss of use of my arm and one leg also. Wounded in right leg at Gettsburg.

up to 1896 had a little property and had to give it up for debt, had to sell it
to pay my debts, sold it to outside parties.

Are you acquainted with applicant, if so, how long have you know him? Yes, known
him since 1854.

been a resident of this State? In Worth County. In State all his life.

where and in what company and regiment did he enlist, and how do you know? 5th day
of April 1861, Company G, 14th Georgia Regiment. I served with him.
Were
you a member of the same company and regiment? Yes
How long did he perform
regular military duty, and what do you know of his service as a Confederate soldier,
and the time and circumstances of his discharge from service? About 4 years he was
as good a soldier as their was in the army. Surrendered 9th of April 1865 at Lee’s
surrender.
What property effects or income has the applicant? No property
that I know of, I live near him.
He had some property up to 1896 but had
to give it up for debt.
What is the applicant’s occupation and physical condition?
He has no occupation, he is not able to support because of bad paralysis
How was he supported? By his wife

applicant’s physical condition that entitles him to a pension? He has paralysis
and has no use of one arm and one leg on left side. He was also badly wounded at
Gettysburg, Pa. which disables him.

Personally came before me W. L. Sikes and M. J. Crockett,
both known to me as reputable physicians of said County, who, being severally sworn,
say on oath that they have examined carefully T. Tipton, applicant for pension under
Section 1254, Code, and after such personal examination say that his precise physical
condition is as follows: Wounded in right leg and suffering with paralysis of left
side both arm and leg use of arm total loss which disables him from work and is
not able to support his family.
We further say on oath that the physical
condition of applicant renders him unable to labor at any work or calling sufficient
to earn a support for himself, and that we have no interest in said pension being
allowed.

Personally before me comes Mrs. Lenora Tipton of said County, who,
after being duly sworn, says that she is the widow of T. Tipton Sr. to whom, in
the County of Worth State of Georgia she was married on the 3rd day of December
1868, and that she remained his wife, and resided with him to the date of his death
in October 19, 1920 and that she has not since his death remarried. At the time
of his death he was a resident of Worth County, in said State of Georgia, and he
was on the Indigent Pension Roll of the State and paid a pension of $100.00 in Worth
County for 1920 per annum, on account of being a soldier in Company G Regiment 14th
(Volunteers and State)
That she is now a bona fide resident citizen of said
County of Worth and she has so continuously resided since 12th day of September
1849.

say: that of their own personal knowledge Mrs. Lenora Tipton, who made the foregoing
affidavit, is the lawful widow of T. Tipton Sr. who died in Worth County in said
State of Georgia on 19th day of October 1920, and that she has not remarried. That
she became the wife of T. Tipton the 3rd day of December 1868, and that she and
he had resided together as man and wife continuously since 3rd day of December 1868,
and that the T. Tipton Sr. was the same man who was on the pension roll of the State
Georgia from Worth County Georgia when he died.

In person came before me, the undersigned
Ordinary in and for the County of Muscogee, Mrs. A. C. Walker, who being duly sworn
according to law, says under oath that she is the widow of W. W. Walker, who was
a soldier in the service of the Confederate States, and served as a member of Company
G, of the 14th Regiment of Georgia Volunteers ; that he enlisted in said service
on or about the 10th day of June 1861, and was in the Confederate Army up to the
full of 1862. That while in the Army he was on or about the 15th day of November
1862 taken sick and died with Typhoid Pneumonia from exposure while in the army
and said William W. Walker has never been seen or heard from again since the war.
Deponent further swears that she was the wife of said decease soldier during his
term of service in the Army, and that she has never married since his death ; that
she became his wife on the 13th day of October 1842, and that she has resided in
Georgia continuously since the 13th day of October 1842 ; that Georgia is her home,
and was such on the 23rd day of December, 1890, and since said date she has not
lived in any other State or locality.

of Three Witnesses

In person came
before me, the undersigned Ordinary in and for said County, witnesses J. A. Hobby,
Jesse Hobby, and W. A. Harris Captain of Company G (each known to said Attesting
Officer as truthful, reliable, and reputable citizens), who severally say under
oath, that, from their own knowledge, Mrs. A. C. Walker, of the County of Muscogee,
State of Georgia, is the widow of W. W. Walker, who was a soldier in Company G of
the 14th Regiment of Georgia Volunteers. That said soldier enlisted in the service
of the Confederate States ( or the Georgia States Troops) on or about the 10th day
of June 1861. That while is said service, or by reason of said service in the Army,
he lost his life as follows: Taken sick while in the State of Virginia and died
at Rock bridge Allen Spring Hospital in the State of Virginia on or about the fall
of 1862.
Our opportunity for knowing the facts stated is reference to death
of applicant’s husband were that he was a member of our company and we were with
him. We further swear that Mrs. A. C. Walker was the wife of said soldier during
the service, and that she has not intermarried since his death, and that she resides
in Muscogee County of the State of Georgia.

28, 1898. B. Kearce served as a witness for his pension. He married Easter Wiley
in Worth Co. Georgia. He died in Worth Co. on Jan 5, 1909. She filed for a Widow’s
pension on September 15th in Worth Co. after his death. T. Tipton and G.G. Ford
served as witnesses for her.

and poverty. Blind in one eye and cant see much out of the other. Old and feeble

of his discharge from service? About three years, he was a good soldier. Was captured
5th of April 1865 at Petersburg and sent to Point Lookout and was paroled on 22nd

1898, and what disposition, if any, did he make of same? None.

a little, physical condition is bad.

health and almost blind.

Application for Pension Due to a Deceased Pensioner
GEORGIA, Lowndes County.
Personally before me, the Ordinary of said County, comes
J. P. Ulmer of said County, who, after being sworn, on oath says that he knew G.
A. Wingate of said County, and that said Pension Roll of said County at the time
of death, which occurred in Lowndes County, in this State, on the 1 day of June
1926, and that a Pension of $200.00 Dollars was due pensioner and unpaid at the
time of pensioner’s death, he left no children, and no estate of any value sufficient
to pay these funeral expenses, which amounted to the sum of $73.00, per sworn statements
fully and completely ITEMIZED hereto attached.
