Betty J. Bohannon, 69, of Fitzgerald, died Friday, October 3, 2014 at
her residence.
Graveside services will be held 3 P.M., Sunday, October 5, 2014, at
Abba Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Freeman officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 Saturday evening at the
funeral home.
Mrs. Bohannon was born December 28, 1944, in Ben Hill County, Georgia,
to the late James Francis & Elizabeth Estelle Garrett
Horne. She was a homemaker and a former employee of Hardees. She also
worked as a security guard at Shaw for Pinkerton
Security. She lived in the community all of her life with the exception
of her travels to Germany & California while her
husband served in the Armed Forces. She attended New Prospect Baptist
Church.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ken Bohannon of Fitzgerald;
three sons, Kenny Bohannon, Jr. and Scott & Karen
Bohannon, all of Fitzgerald and Phillip & Jeci Bohannon of
Ludowici; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren;
siblings: Jimmy Horne, Virginia Walker, Ann Elder, and Howard
Horne. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death
by a brother, J.C. Horne.
