George Cooper
Funeral services over the body of George R. Cooper, 84, whose death occured Thursday morning about eight o'clock at his home, were conducted this afternoon from the Wolfpit church at 3:30 o'clock. Rev. J. F. Singleton, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiated, assisted by Rev. Joe McConnell of Mystic
Mr. Cooper was bornin Virginia. He moved to this county when he was a very small boy, making his home here ever since. He was married to Miss Georgia Anne Gaff of this county, who was the mother of his children and who preceeded him to the grave. In 1938 he was married to Miss Eula Mann of Decatur, Ala. who, with three daughters, Mrs. W. H. Ashurst, Mrs. D. N. Foxworthy, Mrs. Corbitt Hyde, all of this city; and four sons, Jack and John Cooper of this city, Robert of Ocilla and Sam of St. Petersburg, survive.
Paul bearers were: R. J. Spell, Gordon Roberts, Joe Howell, J. T. Mangum, Dave Paulk, and Paul Kelly.
Interment was in Wolfpit Cemetery.
