FITZGERALD — Michael F. "Mike" Maye, 53, of Ellabelle, formerly of Fitzgerald, died Saturday, March 20, 2004, in Effingham County.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Evergreen Cemetery.

Michael F. “Mike” Maye, 53, of Ellabelle, Georgia, formerly of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Saturday, March 20, 2004, in Effingham County, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with Elder Jimmy Chapman officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 Tuesday Evening.
Mr. Maye was born August 14, 1950, in Irwin County, Georgia to the late Joe and Lucille Carmichael Maye. Mr. Maye was a retired engineer with the Georgia epartment of Transportation, he was also a retired Staff Sergeant with Georgia Army National Guard.He had lived in the Savannah area for the past 2 years, moving from the Ocilla and Fitzgerald Communities.
Mr. Maye is Survived by his wife Elaine Maye, Ellabelle, Georgia; son: Joe Maye, Irwin County, Georgia; 3 daughters: Christy M. Bates, Biloxi, Mississippi, Jessica Latham and Haley Latham both of Fitzgerald, Georgia; brother: Allen Maye, Ocilla, Georgia and sister: Sandra Newman, Pooler, Georgia; 3 Grand Children: Katy, Emily and Elizabeth Bates, all of Biloxi, Mississippi.
