GUSSIE GRIGGS, 91 Housekeeper
WEST PALM BEACH -- Mrs. Gussie Lee Griggs of West Palm Beach, formerly of Lake Wales, died of heart failure Sunday (Nov. 7, 2004) at home. She was 91.
Born in Blakely, Ga., on Jan. 26, 1913, she moved to West Palm Beach from Lake Wales six years ago. She was a housekeeper. She was a member of the Lilly
White Society and the Eastern Star. She was a member and deaconess at First Institutional Missionary Baptist Church of Lake Wales where she was a member of
the Choir No. 1, Choir No. 2 and the Senior Women's Mission Ministry.
Mrs. Griggs is survived by her husband, Gatlin Griggs; daughter, Ethel Henderson, West Palm Beach; brother, Walter Latimer, New London, Conn.; sister, Brownie
Pugh, Blakely; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Epps Mortuary, Lake Wales. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Institutional Baptist Church.
