ARNOLD LASSITER, 93 Bartow Steam Laundry

LAKELAND -- Mr. Arnold C. "Sonny" Lassiter of Lakeland died of kidney failure Tuesday (Oct. 26, 2004) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was 93. Born in Blakely, Ga., on March 7, 1911, he came to Lakeland from Bartow seven years ago. He was a foreman for Bartow Steam Laundry. He was a member of Bartow First Baptist Church.

Mr. Lassiter was preceded in death by his wife, Truly Lassiter. He is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Combee, Lakeland, three grandchildren and three great- grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, 650 E. Main St., Bartow. Graveside services will follow at 3 p.m. at Wildwood Cemetery, Bartow. Memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church building fund, 8550 State Road 33 N., Lakeland, 33809.
