John Webb was known in his community as an honest hard working man. John and Clifford had a happy home and there was always peace and harmony there. Hoping to
provide a better life for their children; John and Clifford moved to Central Florida in 1922. Florida was going through a land boom and John and Clifford came
based on the promise of cheap land and plentiful work. They settled at Winter Garden in Orange County Florida and found work in the citrus industry. By 1925 the
land boom was a bust and the jobs dried up. John and Clifford and 7 of their children moved back to Jakin and the farm. Their two oldest daughters had married
and remained behind in Florida to raise their families.
A brain aneurysm killed John on March 18, 1940 at home in Jakin. He is buried at the Springfield Baptist Church cemetery at Jakin.
Clifford was to see most of her sons serve in the US Navy during WWII. Tragedy would touch their lives again 1942 when son Idus 'Jimmy' Webb was killed. Jimmy
died when his ship, the USS Pensacola was torpedoed at Guadalcanal. Clifford again moved to Central Florida in 1950 to live with her daughter Virginia Estelle
Webb Davis. Over time much of the family, children, sisters, brothers and cousins moved to Orange County Florida to be near her. Clifford died October 1, 1967
at Winter Garden in Orange County Florida. She is buried at the Winter Garden Cemetery next to her daughter Virginia Estelle and near many other family members.
