"LOVING MEMORIES"
BY
MARY LOUISE BANKS PEAVY
This was written by Orilious Hunt Banks' daughter on his 90th birthday, but it expresses the sentiment of all his daughters
I often wish that others had known the life I've known.
To have lived in a small town like Shady Dale, and there to stay, 'till grown.
I wish they'd known the love, of a family like I had.
A family that's so special. With a special Mom and Dad.
I'd have to wish for others what I consider ideal.
Three sisters, the "fifties", a southern town, and parents that live there still.
I'd like to give to others values taught with care.
Values that stress God, love, and patriotism, as being right and fair.
I often tell my children, I may not leave wealth or fame,
But the greatest gift I leave them, is the gift of a good name.
If all had been as fortunate what a better world this would be,
then all would say in unison "I'm happy to be me"
If God had given me a choice of where, and who and when, I'd have to choose my life to be
exactly as it has been.
Thank you Mother and Daddy for a happy childhood and loving memories!
