d. June 30, 1801 in Lincoln County, Georgia. Seeking information
on the genealogy of this family.
I understand that my great grandparents, John
L. THOMAS and Belinda Frances MOREMAN were married in Lincoln
Co., GA, I would say around 1842-1845. I am very anxious to learn anything
at all about them, about their parents, where they came from, etc. I know
Belinda's parents were Thomas MOREMAN and Rachel (SIMMONS)
Moreman. I know that Rachel had been born in Virginia in 1773.
I do not know who John L also in Georgia. One of their children
was my grandmother, Susanna(h) Americus Melvina THOMAS, born in
1850 in Georgia, also perhaps in Lincoln Co. John and Belinda
show up in Tallapoosa County, Alabama by 1860 with Rachel MOREMAN,
87 years old, living with them. Is there anyone with any information on
any of these people? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

In the late 1700s and early 1800's, Jesse HARDY,
SR and JR lived in Lincoln County. Jesse HARDY
married Nancy JETER in Nov 1820 but died by the mid 1820s. He is
probably buried in Lincoln County but I have no record of that nor
do I know if it was Sr or Jr. Nancy is then listed in 1826
as Nancy WILLINGHAM marrying Shadrack GAITHER. I have traced
this lady from the birth of her two children (Hardy kids) through
to her death and burial in Clay Cty Ala and I have no doubt that
it is the same person. However, the name change is a bit confusing. Shadrack
was appointed as gaurdian of the two Hardy kids in the early 1830s.
At one point, a Buck JETER was also a guardian of the kids. The
kids later grew up and I have traced them throughout their lives. Any cemetery
data for the HARDY clan or any marriage data during the 1820s to
clarify the names would be most helpful. For reference, the 2 kids were
Whitmel H HARDY and Dicey HARDY.
