Petition for To E. W. Hammond, Ordinary of said County, The petition of Margaret Cordelia Ellis, wife of Richard A. Ellis, a citizen of said county and head of a family consisting of herself, her husband, R. A. Ellis, who is "non compo mentis" 48 years old August 26th, 1894, and six children, to wit:

4th day of July 1894. Blakely Drewry 4 years old 25th of June 1894. And that she desires under the constitution of Georgia and the statures in refference thereto particularly Section 2040 of the Code 1882 of Ga. To have laid off and set apart as a homestead for the use of said family on or out of one hundred acres of land the property of R. A. Ellis situated in said county West half of lot No. 93 bounded on the North by lands of R. J. Manley, on the East by lands of Charles Mullins, part of said lot south by lands of Mr. J. C. Ransom, West by lands of J. Grantland - containing one hundred one and Ό acres more or less the place whereon petitioner resides not to exceed in value One thousand dollars.  Petitioner also desires to have exempted and set apart the personal property embraced in Schedule “A” hereunto attached to which refference is made as a part of her petition.  Said schedule containing a minute and accurate description of all the personal property belonging to your petitioner.  Schedule “B” hereto attached contains a correct list of the name and post office of the Creditors of petitioner.  Your petitioner prays that an order may issue to the County Surveyor of said county requiring him to lay off and make a plat of a homestead for said family out of and from said one hundred acres of land and make return thereof in accordance with law.  Your petitioner asks that the usual notice in such cases may issue and be published as required by law and your petitioner will ever pray.

Schedule of all the property belonging to R. A. Ellis and Margrett Cordelia Ellis, who is the head of a family at the time of making the foregoing application for homestead and exemption from lien and sale under and by virtue of the Constitution and laws of said State and prays your Honor to set apart a day for the passing upon the same and give the notice required and that the day so set apart Your Honor will pass an order approving the same as in duty bound.

Realty – One hundred acres of land more less – a full description of which is given in the foregoing petition.
