Side Note: William Ellis surveyed the Land that became the 3rd District of Henry later Spalding. His son Dr. James was the Surveyor of Pike at the time Spalding was being formed from part of Pike. Then his father William was the first Surveyor of Spalding. Looks like they had the Land surveys pretty well covered in Spalding County.
