William J. Ellis to Dudley Sneed Deed

This Indenture made and entered into between Wm J. Ellis and Dudley Sneed, both of the County and State aforesaid in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty one this sixteenth day of January date aforesaid as follows that is to say William J. Ellis for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred Dollars to him in hand paid by the above named Sneed, at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents hath granted and sold, and by these presents do grant sell and convey unto the said Dudley Sneed his heirs or assigns all that tract of land lying and being in the County and State aforesaid and second District of said County known by the number seventy one containing two hundred and one half acres more or less.  To have and to hold said bargained premises unto him the said Dudley Sneed his heirs or assigns with all and singular the rights and appurtenances thereunto belonging to his and their own proper use and benefit forever in fee simple.  And the said William J. Ellis for himself his heirs or assigns will defend the right and title thereof free from the claim of himself and all other persons.
