This Indenture made and entered into this the thirtieth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight between William J. Ellis of the State and County aforesaid of the one part and Sion R. Bullard of the same State and County of the other part.  Witnesseth that the said William J. Ellis for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and seventy five dollars to him in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivering of these presence the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold and conveyed and do by these presence grant bargain sell and convey unto the said Sion R. Bullard his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the county of originally Monroe but now Pike County and in the second District of said County known the No. one hundred and seventy two and on the waters of Potato Creek containing two hundred and two and a half acres more or less have(ing) such form and shape as a plat of the same will ______ ______ them to have and to hold said tract or parcel of land unto him the said Sion R. Bullard his heirs & assigns together with all and singular the rights members and appurtenances thereof to the same in any manner belonging to his and their own proper use benefit and behoof forever in fee simple and the said William Ellis for himself his heirs executors and administrators the said bargained premises unto the said Sion R. Bullard his heirs and assigns will warrant and forever defend the right and title thereof against themselves and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever.  In Witness Whereof I the said William Ellis have herunto set my hand and fixed my seal this day & date first above written.  Signed sealed & delivered in presence of

Personally appeared before me John Guin who after being duly sworn deposeth and said that he saw Wm J. Ellis sign seal and deliver the within deed to Sion R. Bullard for the purpose therein mentioned & the deponent further saith he subscribed the same as a witness & saw Benj. E. Lynch & Obediah S________ do so likewise.  Sworn & Subscribed before me this 1 Sept 1828.
