Pension: He filed for a pension in Worth Co. Georgia on August 21, 1919. T. Tipton and John H.  Ford served as a witness for him. He married Elizabeth Eady on June 20, 1867 in Worth Co.   Georgia. She filed for his pension in Worth Co. on January 6, 1930. He died January 1, 1930 in Worth Co. Georgia.

When, where and in what Company and Regiment did J. E. Eady enlist during war from   1861 to 1865? August 6,1861 in Isabella, Georgia, Co. G 14th Georgia Regiment

How did you obtain your information of this service? He was in my company the 14th Georgia  regiment, Co. G. I being 1st Lieutenant 

How long within your personal knowledge did he perform actual military service with this   Company and Regiment? From August 6, 1861 to Dec 1861, He had typhoid pneumonia and was   sent home on furlough, came back to company in 1864 and served three months, he had chronic   diarrhea and was sent home on furlough again

When and where was his command surrendered or discharged? April 9, 1865 at Appomattox   Court House, Virginia

Were you personally present at the surrender? At Richmond, Virginia hospital wounded

If not, where were you and how came you there? Wounded and was at Richmond, Virginia   hospital the day of surrender

When did he leave his command? Where was his command when he left it? Second time about  1864 in Virginia

Pension: He filed for a pension in Worth Co. Georgia on December 30, 1896. J. J. Ross served as   a witness for him.

Where did you reside on January 1, 1894, and how long have you been a resident of this State? In Worth County

When and where were you born? In SC., on September 18th, 1814

When and where and in what company and regiment did you enlist? In 1861 at Isabella,   Georgia, Co. G, 14th Georgia Regiment

How long did you remain in such company and regiment? Three years and 20 days

When, where and under what circumstances where you discharged from service?

1864 in Virginia on account of being over 60 years old 

What is your present occupation? Coroner of Worth County

What has been your occupation since 1865? Farming part of the time

Upon what grounds do you base your application for pension? Age and poverty, could not earn  support for last five or six years

Have you a family? If so, who composes such family? Give their means of support? Have one   child and wife. Wife is helpless and blind, the child is 53 years old and very feeble, she is a woman

When, where and in what company and regiment did he enlist? July 9, 1961 at Isabella,   Georgia

How long did he perform regular military duty, and what do you know of his service as a  Confederate soldier, and the time and circumstances of his discharge from service? Served   three years, he was discharged on account of being over-age in 1864

What property, effects or income has the applicant? He has little property, I know him well

What is the applicant’s occupation and physical condition? He is Coroner of Worth County,

He is very old and feeble not able to labor

Is the applicant unable to support himself by labor of any sort, if so, why? I consider him   unable to support himself by labor, his office does not pay him near enough for his support

Pension: He filed for his pension in Worth County in January 1898. T. Tipton and Jesse Hobby   served as witnesses for him. His wife filed for his pension in Worth Co. on October 27, 1919.   T. Tipton served as a witness for her.

Which grounds do you base you’re application for pension? Infirmity and poverty, Blindness  and poverty, I have chronic Rheumatism, badly ruptured on side and bleeding piles

Have you a family? If so, who composes such family? Give their means of support? Have   they a homestead? Yes, have wife and 2 children, no support except income of wife’s little farm,  wife has home.

About four years, he was a good soldier

Don’t know, I left him at Petersburg, Virginia. I was with him thirty days before surrender. We enlisted together and was together until I and others were sent to Lynchburg, Virginia

Pension: His wife Mrs. Elizabeth Ford (Ross) applied for his pension in Worth Co. under the Indigent Widows of Confederate Soldiers thru the years 1901-1905. G. S. Sumner, J. J. Ross, and T. Tipton served as witnesses for her during those years

How long and since when have you been a resident of this State? All of my life since June 11,  1840

When and where was your husband born – state his full name, and when you and he    married? Robert Grayham Ford, August 21, 1834 in Dooly County, Georgia, married November  19, 1857

When and where, and in what company and regiment did you husband enlist or serve in the  war between the states? 1861 – Co. G, 14th Georgia Regiment at Isabella, Georgia

How long did your husband serve in said company and regiment? Eight months then was sent  home as a Recruiting Officer then returned to his command 

When and where did your husband’s command and regiment surrender and was discharged?

He put in a substitute and went out again a Captain of Co. in Georgia Militia and was in that Co.  at the close of the war

If not with command at surrender, state clearly and specifically where he was, when he left  command, for what cause, and by whose authority? Do not know by what authority but he was   acting as an enrolling officer 

When and where did your husband die? At home, Aug 6, 1875 in Worth County

Which grounds do you base your application for Pension? Age and Poverty, Infirmity and   Poverty, I have not been able to do any work at all in 5 years

What has been your occupation since your husband’s death? Working in the field a living until  I got to where I was not able to work

How have you been supported since death of husband? By help of children 

Have you a Family? No, except 4 children 2 boys and 2 girls

In Worth co. Georgia, resided in State all her life

When and where did Robert G. Ford enlist in the war between the States, and in what   company and regiment did he enlist and how do you know this? First enlisted in 1861 at   Isabella, Georgia in Co. G 14th Georgia Regiment, I lived close to him. In 1863 and afterwards  joined Co. F 10th Georgia Militia, he was Captain of the company and remained with the company  until the close of the war

Were you a member of the same company and regiment? Yes I became a member after he went  in to the war

How long did he perform regular military duty? About 4 years

When and where was his company and regiment surrendered and discharged from service?

1865 in Georgia, our company was detached and sent to Albany, Georgia just before its surrender

Was Robert G. Ford present? Yes

When and where did he leave his Command? At Albany

For what cause? Discharged there

By whose authority? By our commanding officer W. A. Harris

How do you know all this? I was with its company

Do you of your own knowledge know that applicant is lawful widow? Yes
